"videos just get the job done much better than mere words"
As I mentioned on my Reflection #4 people are getting a lot more visual than auditory. We like seeing the words that one person is trying to get across to another. When this author wrote mere words I think he meant spoken words.
People hear the words but they remember it so much better if it's written down or shown through a video when relaying information.
In video's we see a lot more words that are spoken actually written on the video so people can see what the speaker is saying.
My sister and I like watching videos with subtitles, not because we can't understand English or we're not very auditory but we feel like we get a lot more out of the movie if we can see the words that are spoken.
But going back to the article, I think the suggestions on different ways to use videos in a classroom is pretty fun and interesting. Especially the reflection of beginning goals to ending achievements.
It's an interesting way to have students self assess themselves.
